Children’s Literature Festivals are annually held in several cities around Myanmar in order to promote the habit of reading in children. In Yangon, 2nd Children’s Literature Festival was held at Basic Education High School (6) Botahtaung from 6 to 8 January, 2018.
In the opening ceremony of the festival, Htet Myet, representing the high school student body of Myanmar, cut the ceremonial ribbon along with President U Htin Kyaw, Union Minister for Information Dr. Pe Myint, Union Minister for Education Dr. Myo Thein Gyi, Yangon Region Chief Minister U Phyo Min Thein, and other outstanding students. The festival included book sales, exhibitions from schools, performances, fun activities, and seminars.
